Three lady friends (50’s housewives) sit around a kitchen table. One is drinking a soda bottle, one is doing her nails and the third is typing on a typewriter. They talk about their ideas on women’s liberation and emancipation. One woman says it is about the freedom from drudgery and chores. The buzzer for the washing machine goes off and she places all the clothes into the dryer. She sits down and says, “That’s the kind of emancipation any woman can understand!”
