Henry VIII makes a surprise visit to Thomas More, seeking a legal advice regarding his intent to divorce his wife. Thomas comes outside, bewildered, yet welcomes the king nonetheless. Henry and Thomas go in private in order to talk about the king’s concern. Eventually, however, Thomas tells the king that he won’t be able to support his idea of divorce, which upsets the king considerably.
