This clip is of an American soldier at a military camp, speaking with other soldiers and talking to the camera, though with no sound. MS of two WWII soldiers in a military jeep drive past as the camera pans with their movement. Quick cut of a similar shot before the jeep has passed the cameraman. One more take, longer than the one previous, wide tracking shot with pan. Cut to the jeep driving up in LS as one of the soldiers gets out and speaks to some other military men by the road. He smiles to the camera and begins to walk beyond the jeep. In the next shot, the young man talks to some soldiers digging out a hole (looks like a trench, but it’s unclear). Cut to the man walking out of a building, pipe in hand. A title card says, “Here’s a Big Kiss, Mom!” before he talks to someone off camera in MS. In the CU following, he appears to talks to the camera and smiles.
