Ohio: clay pipe factory. Vitrified clay sewer pipes. Dry clay is combined with water in mixing vats. Men operate the machinery. Man pulls cart full of clay pipes. Thousands of them are left to dry in a warehouse. Men fix them with a center bar. The pipes are taken into a huge ‘Beehive’ (periodic) kiln. Man shovels coal into the kiln to fire it. The pipes are put into another (low temperature) oven. The pipes are laid by workmen in the ground.
