Clip opens with Arthur Henderson, president of the World Disarmament Conference, giving opening conference speech to audience made up of representatives from the League of Nations, the U.S. and the Soviet Union. Cuts to shot of Adolf Hitler standing next to Nazi flag with crowd around him—everyone is doing the Nazi salute. Camera zooms out to reveal what looks like an army or marching band and older Hitler Youth members marching by in the street, arms raised in the Nazi salute. Video cuts to parade in New York held in honor of Amelia Earhart after she successfully flew across the Atlantic alone. Shots of confetti falling like snow and streamers getting tangled on American flags hanging from buildings. A line of convertibles drive through the street, accompanied by horses on either side. Amelia Earhart waves from one of the convertibles. Crowd cheers. Mayor James “Jimmy” Walker gives a speech in Earhart’s honor as she stands beside him holding a huge bouquet. Next clip shows James “Jimmy” Doolittle and his wife, Josephine, as they board an American Airlines plane to fly from coast to coast across the U.S. in 11 hours. Shot of plane taking off from runway, then flying in air with mountains and sky in background.
