Video shows shots of crowds at the republican and democratic national conventions (people wave mini American flags and hold signs). A delegate announces California casted 44 votes the state had for Franklin D. Roosevelt. Rest of video switches back and forth between Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt giving speeches. Hoover speaks of how the election is more than a contest between two men or two parties, but a contest between two philosophies of government, etc. (Campaign address at Madison Square Garden in New York City.) FDR speaks of how change and party leadership doesn’t strike at the fundamental principles of the republican party, but change offers opportunities, etc. (Address at Bridgeport, Connecticut, then Press Conference at Hyde Park, New York.)
