Opens with shots of Festival of Guadalupe. Shows canopy tents with people crowded underneath and people milling about in the surrounding area. It's unclear if the people under the tents are selling things or just gathering in groups. Cuts to point of view shot directly under a tent that has a pallet/table covered in piles of what looks to be potatoes or a similar vegetable. Nearby row of tents also have piles of potatoes underneath. Cuts to shot of woman wearing shawl wrapped around head and draped over back. She sits beside a stone wall, at the bottom of a hill where there’s a creek. She has something in her moving hands—is she peeling or washing a vegetable? Title card: “Yucatan. Ruins of Maya Indians. ‘Chichen Itza.’ Temple of Ku-Kul-Kan.” Shot of Temple of Ku-Kul-Kan (also spelled “Kukulkan” and called “El Castillo”). The summit of the temple is clearly visible, but the rest is mostly obscured by trees. “Ball Court and Temple of Tigers.” Camera pans over several different structural areas of a large, well preserved Mesoamerican ball court.
