This clip contains footage of a slapstick comedian attempting suicide but is thwarted by comical events.Begins with a boy holding a wooden sword and another boy waiting around the corner with a water pistol, the boys tussle and then disappear. The protagonist sadly saunters up and sees the gun on the ground. He looks around and runs off with it. Cuts to him slinking around the corner of a building, he puts the gun to his head but is shaking too much to pull the trigger. He switches hands and then pulls the trigger only to have water spray his face, he sprays the wall before walking off. He spots a cable car and walks in front of it waiting to be hit, the cable car goes off the tracks and around him. CU of his face crunched up, he opens one eye and watches the car drive off. He walks to a golf course and spots a large pond with a bridge. He picks up a heavy rock and walks onto a bridge, tying string to the rock and around his neck, he then puts wads of cotton in his ear and up his nose. He climbs over the bridge’s railing. The intertitle appears: “Farewell cruel world-”. He jumps into the water but it only goes up to his ankles, he drops the rock and walks off. He approaches another pond and pushes a stick inside to determine the depth. He runs up the bridge and climbs over the railing a man stops him asking for a light. Another man stops him asking for the time. The protagonist hands him his pocket watch, the man shakes his hand vigorously.
