Film from the 1910s/1920s that documents the journey of a the “Steel Horse of the Twentieth Century Limited”train from its caboose starting at the Grand Central Terminal in New York. WS West Point; continues into forested hills. Continues into various small buildings. Words on black screen say these are Storm King and Mount Taurus, both over 1500 feet high, above West Point. Shot of forested mountains with river below. Words on black screen say this is the land of Cooper’s Leather Stocking Tales. Camera driven through tunnel and then fence, consisting of poles strung with wire, on left side of the track bed, between the track and the river, shot from the left side of the train. On bends, the mountainside on the right of the train enters the frame. Train runs in front of dynamic black hills against white skyline. Words on black screen say these are the Catskill Mountains. WS of mountains with wide body of water between them and the camera. Train pulls into station. Travelers carrying bundles and suitcases exit the train. The station is bustling.
