Clip is raw footage of the Scandinavian Airlines airliner crash on January 13, 1969 in the Pacific Ocean near Los Angeles Airport (LAX).
Show clean-up crews slowly clearing the disaster, working day and night. The aircraft is partially submerged in the ocean. In fact, the entire backend of the plane, i.e. from the wings and the tail, is missing or at least detached from the frontend of the plane. Pieces of the aircraft are scattered about.
The U.S. Coast Guard and emergency crews work near or on the crash site. A special-purpose submarine is being prepared. A fleet of ambulances are parked and perhaps are on standby. People watch from the shore, looking concerned. Firefighters hold a box, perhaps containing the aircraft’s black box.
