Alex the alien sits in his spacecraft and reflects on all of the different organisms he saw on Earth. There are shots of a moose and gopher. The camera zooms in on the head of a skeletal model, and the an illustration of a brain appears as Alex begins talking about animal brains. There is an extreme close-up of fur as Alex talks about animal hair. Alex and Ten-Ping walk around in a natural landscape. There is a short montage of various animals, including gophers, deer, a woodchuck, a fox, a frog, seagulls, an opossum, a rabbit, and horses as Alex expresses his curiosity of animal infants and reproduction in voiceover. Alex classifies the intelligent creatures as mammals, with the help of his robot Ten-Ping.
