Anna Halprin leads a postmodern dance session in her studio at 321 Divisadero, San Francisco. Her students climb the fire escapes and linger on the roof. The building has peace signs painted on its exterior and is conducive for the youth of the 1970s. Inside her studio, Halprin's students remover their clothing and sprawl out on the floor. One of the students says, "Dance is communication through movement". After their session, everyone runs out of the studio, on to the street, with joy.
