A teacher tells his students how to interpret meaning when then read. As an example, a young woman reads a letter from her boyfriend that states that he can't keep writing he because he is running out of stationary. She takes this to mean that he just doesn't want to write her. The teacher reads, "A thing of beauty can be a joy forever," from a John Keats poem. He interprets this to include ideas and life itself. He then goes on to explain style and how to understand it.
