H-Bomb Blast- Exploded at 15,000 Feet Over Pacific (Dept. of Defense) (part 1 of 2); February 1956; We see Bikini Atoll from the air and the ground as it is prepared for destruction. Weather planes fly around the island, monitoring the weather to ensure ideal conditions for the bomb drop. From above we look down on the lit target. We see a man wearing heavy goggles watching from a plane as we hear the bomb hit, and then see the bright light expand in the distance.
