The first portion of this clip is of a wide shot of European women modeling couture in Paris. People stand around them watching the outdoor fashion show take place. The models show off clothes from thirty different designers, representing eleven countries. A photographer snaps pictures of them standing on the streets in front of the Arc de Triomphe. In the second part of this newsreel, nonviolent protestors in Paris are thrown into the backs of cops cars. The protestors go limp when they are carried away by the police as part of their passive resistance protest.The third portion of the clip is of a famous American pianist, Harvey Van Cliburn, arriving by plane to Moscow, Russia for a series of concerts. Fans stand to greet him on the tarmac and surround him as he makes his way down the plane steps.
