The second part of the newsreel shows Chilean people welcoming Eisenhower to Santiago, Chile. Crowds of people line the streets all the way to his hotel. Eisenhower stands up in the moving convertible and waves at the people. Eisenhower meets with Chile's chief of state, Jorge Alessandri Rodriguez, at the presidential palace to discuss "hemisphere problems".
