Clip from 1953 musical comedy Calamity Jane starring Doris Day and Howard Keel.

In this scene a man in full drag (played by Dick Wesson) is coerced by a saloon owner to perform in front of his rowdy patrons. The man in drag is nervous and doesn't want to go on but the owner forces him on stage anyway. He shakily begins to sing a sensual song at which the crowd laughs and leers but does not riot as he orignally expected. Gaining confidence, the man in drag becomes slightly more flamboyant (albeit still clumsy) with his act. All this tension comes to a crescendo as the man in drag's wig is swiped off my an overzealous trombone player and the ruse is over. The crowd gets angry and begins to riot as the man runs backstage and the owner attempts to calm the angry saloon full of drunken cowboys.
