Helen, a junior in high school, opens the door for her date Frank. The two shake hands and Helen tries to introduce Frank to her mother first. However, Frank ignores her mother and shakes hands with her father first. The narrator explains that women are always introduced first and they may or may not offer to shake hands. Frank sits on the couch with Helen's parents while Helen answers the door. Jerry, Frank's friend, greets Helen with her corsage, which Frank left in the car.
