This clip from December 1988 shows Lieutenant Colonel Oliver L. North, North's attorneys, and the attorneys prosecuting North at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, entering and exiting the court and the court's premises. The clip also shows the press's activity outside the courthouse.

As background, North was a key figure of the so-called Iran-Contra scandal and was being prosecuted for his involvement. The scandal, in short, was that the U.S. government was illicitly selling weapons to Iran and using these funds to support the Contras of Nicaragua.

Begins with North arriving at the Court’s parking lot in a luxury car. He enters quickly through one of the Court’s side doors. North is accompanied by his legal team, Barry Simon and Brendan Sullivan.

We then see attorneys John Keker, Michael Bromwich, and David Zornow exiting the courthouse through its front door. One of Keker’s colleagues says that Keker and team is outside for a photo opportunity only. He also says that Keker will be handling the trial against North. The date has been set for January 31st.

North exits the courthouse where he entered earlier and gets into the same luxury car that he arrived in. It is raining lightly. Before the car takes off, photographers ask North what he feels about the trial date that has been set. North appears to tell them that he feels wonderful and to have a merry Christmas. North waves at the press; his car drives off into traffic.

Lots of cameramen and camera stands are set up before the courthouse on a sunny morning before 9:00am. Men in suits exit their vehicles and head into the courthouse, including John Keker and his colleagues Bromwich and Zornow.

Later, during a late afternoon, Keker exits the courthouse with his colleagues. Cameramen swarm around them, asking Keker for a statement or interview.
