Footage gives a quick glimpse of San Francisco on a morning in the early '80s.

A trolley car leaves its garage and moves down a street at sunrise. A person unties a thick rope and spools out fish netting. A boat moves into the wharf and another one sails in front of the city’s downtown skyline. Docked fishing boats face each other across an alley of water at sunrise. Old Victorian homes have lights on in their windows. Coit Tower’s silhouette is seen against a pink sky.

A shot of the Golden Gate Bridge is shrouded in fog. An African-American boy on his paper-route bikes past the Painted Ladies, throwing rolled up Chronicle newspapers on doorsteps. A trolley car moves up a steep hill. The morning sun lights up the edifice of the Saints Peter and Paul Church. The Ferry Building is seen from the bay; people disembark from a boat and the Ferry Building clock strikes 8:00 AM. Up-close shots depict an espresso being made. The camera pans the horizon from a rooftop as a man in a suit drinks from a coffee cup in the foreground. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is seen from a low angle driving towards the camera; people’s feet are shown entering and leaving the train followed by people walking on the sidewalk outdoors.

A man in Chinatown hangs cooked chickens in a window display; people shop produce nearby. Adults chaperone a group of young children across some grass. A couple of shots show the distinct pagoda style roof and ornamented street lamps seen in Chinatown. There is an aerial shot of downtown.
