This clip follows a United States Marine working at an airstrip and training in the 1960s. 

The Marine is first seen guiding a plane on an airport runway. A few men then taxi the same plane to a new location using a small vehicle. 

The Marine is then seen marching with his platoon in formation across a grassy field. They are all wearing dress uniforms. Some carry rifles, while others carry flags - the American flag, the United States Marine Corps (USMC) flag, and another one. 

In the final scene, the Marine sits in a classroom, reading with his fellow Marine classmates. See part 2 for this classroom scene in its entirety.
