Clip provides some context to the 1968 presidential election, highlighting student protests to the US-supported wars in Asia. Some student protests are peaceful, others are violent, like the one at Columbia University, where a university building was seized by force. 

Clip also shows the campaigns for Senator Eugene McCarthy as well as Senator Robert F. Kennedy as both men toured the west coast.
