1950s
Here's a 1950s home movie showing construction work being done on a suburban home as well as a kid mowing his front lawn.
Young men work outside a brick home, removing part of a wall brick by brick. Several of the men are shirtless as it appears to have been a hot day. Discarded bricks and cover the home’s yard.
Several men are working on the home’s metal-like roof. A ladder reaching up to the roof rests against the home. It appears that the roofers are fortifying a part of the home’s existing roof.
An older man sits in the shade, watching the workers.
A man sips water from the yard’s water hose.
One man is using a table saw to cut a long 2x4.
A teenage boy runs a gas lawnmower, cutting the grass of a rather steep hill.
Two men are painting the base of the finished roof. Both men wear hats and overalls.
The old man is still in his yard, sitting in a chair, smoking a pipe and looking content.
The painters stop their painting to look at and to pose for the camera.
Later, through a glass-sliding door, the older man exits the finished home with a young man. A woman also exits the home through the same glass door.
