This 1937 clip shows two American college football games.

The first game takes place at Philadelphia's Franklin Field between Cornell and Penn on Thanksgiving Day. None of the players are wearing facemasks, which is typical of the time. Cornell's Jerome "Brud" Holland, #86, makes an advance through Penn's defense. A group of Cornell male cheerleaders, dressed in preppy white clothing, perform an enthusiastic cheer, yelling for victory. Cornell ends up winning the game, 34-20.

The second game is played at New York City's Polo Grounds, a double-decker stadium, between Pittsburgh and Fordham on a cold, wintry October day. After Pitt recovers a fumble, Pitt's Marshall Goldberg scores a touchdown, making the crowd go wild; but a penalty for holding disallows the score. In the end, both teams are unable to make gains on the other; the final score is 0-0.
