This home movie contains footage of Ecuador in the 1940s, particularly of traditionally dressed Ecuadorian people and the main plaza in Quito.The clip opens on footage of Ecuadorian people in traditional dress, wearing hats (Panama hats, which are actually Ecuadorian in origin, called Jipijapas) and ponchos (or Ruanas). Shots of women and children in traditional dress (Peruvian Incas?). One woman wears a rebozo, which falls down when a man accidentally brushes it off her head as he passes by. Shots of the Cathedral of Quito on La Plaza Grande, and Carondelet Palace.
