Footage of Patco Strike in Leesburg, Virginia. Interview continues with same striker. Interviewer asks striker why they are striking with the popularity of President and the disapproval of Congress. Striker says the union has been discussing it for four years, trying to work with Congress. Striker insists it’s not about money but about better working conditions. Interviewer asks, “Wouldn’t it have made more sense to keep talking with the government?” and brings up the threat of losing their jobs and jail. Striker replies that he doesn’t think they all will be fired because they can’t be re-hired by the government. Striker says he hopes strike will end soon. Striker cites a statistic about medical retirement and says it’s “not right.”
