Commercial for Volkswagen Beetle (Bug) and new automatic stick shift. Commercial is a parody of Steinbeck’s novel “Of Mice and Men.” George, a farmer wants to teach dimwitted and simpleminded Barney how to drive a car. Barney a large, dumb oaf sits on a bale of hay holding and petting a rabbit. Barney is hesitant because he doesn’t know how to drive a stick shift or clutch pedal, however Volkswagen’s new automatic shift mechanism means that even a slow-minded person can drive a car, “it’s as easy as A B C”
