Examines the results of twenty-five years of ignorance and negligence that has led many of America's cities to a point of major crisis. Uses the city of Cleveland to illustrate such spreading problems as water and air pollution, decaying slums, flight to the suburbs, unemployment within an expanding economy, strangled transportation, and increasing depersonalization.
