Universal Newspaper Newsreel title card reads, "Lieut. Williams Tries out his 'Mystery Plane' / Aircraft, with which he hopes to win Schneider trophy, is launched / Annapolis, MD." The Schneider Trophy was a trophy awarded annually to the winner of a race for seaplanes and flying boats. A seaplane is being lowered into the ocean by a crane attached to a boat. The title card reads, "This tiny machine with a wing spread of only 23 feet has a 1,000 horse power engine." The plane is shown floating in the water. Next title card reads, "Williams will have to beat the record of 318 miles an hour held by Italy." Williams (Alford J. Williams), is climbing into the plane, he is wearing a khaki uniform and flying cap and goggles. The plane is turned on and in the next the camera is on a boat filming the plane as it speeds up across the water. Last title card reads, "Lieutenant Al Williams, our Navy's greatest flyer." Williams is shown in a striking closeup with his flying cap on and aviator goggles resting on the top of his head.
