We see a spool of film piling up into a bin, then a cotton field in the south with African Americans picking cotton. Then we see bales of cotton being transported suspended from chains by a conveyor system. the cotton is fed into a machine that spits it out onto a conveyor belt as fine fibers. The cotton is fed into a vat where it is broken down into cellulose, and then celluloid. A spout pours thick celluloid jelly into a jar. Celluloid in a long, thin sheet is wound onto a spool. Next we see ingots of silver put into a vat and melted down. There is also a vat of emulsion stirred by an automatic paddle.
