A manservant enters an Edwardian kitchen to discover the lady of the house preparing coffee instead of tea as a surprise for her husband. The butler is taken aback, but Madame argues that the coffee is of the best quality and that she takes full responsibility for the master’s reaction. The man of the house receives tea service from the butler in his drawing room without looking up from his paper, but promptly calls for his servant, who while he is expecting to be upbraided but is instead praised for the delicious coffee. Hobson takes credit for the change in ritual as the housewife looks on slyly from the kitchen. They establish that the product comes from Norway.
