Commercial and public service announcement for the IRS; a man is looking at a car, when the male voiceover begins to describe deductions to add on a tax return form: “hold it! Here’s a message from the Internal Revenue Service-”; spokesman in commercial: “when you itemize, don’t overlook tax deductions, to which you’re entitled: like the sales tax on that boat or mobile home or, new or used cars. You can add that to sales tax shown in the table!”; he kicks the tire of a car and injures himself; male voiceover as spokesman drives the car with a pair of crutches sticking out the window: “don’t forget the automobile mileage or any transportation costs to and from your doctor’s office for health purposes, and don’t forget to deduct union dues, and the cost of a safety deposit box if used for keeping savings bonds and stock certificate, or any similar income-producing items! You can even deduct the cost of having last year’s tax return prepared! And, if you’re a crime fighter, or work at another job requiring uniforms not suitable for general use, and specifically required by an employer, the cost of the uniforms may be deductible! (the spokesman, at this point, had ducked into a phone booth and changed into a police uniform) Make sure you take every deduction you’re entitled to!”; as spokesman gives a parking ticket to another man, he points at it and says, “but this is not deductible!”
