Clip contains amateur shot footage from the 1939 World Fair in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, New York.Clip beings with a MS of a smallish elephant nearby some people stand watching it. Cuts to a MCU shot of the same elephant, the angle now is more head on. Cuts to WS of a stadium as two white racing cars speed into and through the foreground of the shot. Variety of similar shots follow all showing brief and small stunts performed by the cars, such as going off very slight ramps, a trick repeated but extended by the car crashing through a large white sheet. Cuts to a MS which pans across people in the foreground, girls running, and in the background great quantities of water are pouring down a large fountain wall which looks like a waterfall. Cuts to a MS framed on a women and man as they walk side by side out of a small passage way which seems to lead into a door set into the same wall that the waterfall fountain runs down. What follows this is a series of fast cuts which mostly MS of various different people standing around the fair exhibits and also engaging with them. Multiple MS of people staring into what looks like a bin. The shots grow longer cutting to a tightly framed medium shot of the same couple who walked from beneath the fountain + one new face, the man shooting this footage. The shot shows the trio in a mirror which warps and bends there images. Cuts to a CU shot of some flora. Shot pans up to reveal another reflection, this time from a great distance, which cuts but to the same shot as the cameraman and lady begin to wave at their reflections and the camera. The MS then continues to pan up to reveal to top of the reflective structure, above which is a large coil tower. Cuts to a MWS framed on the feet of a large statue, panning upwards to reveal the full height of the stone sculpture and his military garb. Cuts to a WS now filmed in the night, most of the shot is black but for some neon lights which look almost as though they are abstract colors and lines floating in darkness. Numerous shots like this follow, eventually readable signs appear for companies such as Goodrich and Chrysler Motors. Cuts through a variety of dark WS of quite indistinguishable buildings and their neon lights. Cuts back to a daylight MS centered on a young blonde lady who wears a black pea coat and is taking a photograph of the man behind the camera. Cuts to a MS of a horse drawn carriage as it sits unmanned, on the side of the road. Cuts back to a shot of the waterfall fountain very similar to the ones earlier in the clip. Now the subject of the shots is a young girl with glasses and a turquoise hat, cuts through a couple of MS of her as she struggles with the wind. Last few shots before the clip end are MS of stone statues.
