Fades to a scene of children checking out books from a traveling library (one of over two thousand)- a library in the back of a truck, where these children can access books despite their isolated locale. Cuts to another segment on the nursing project, where two women are washing and feeding infants as part of a program where nurses, both students and registered, are sent to homes to help working mothers.Segment involves a nurse assisting a mother in the batheing of the infant. Segments ends with ageneral check-up of an infant by a nurse. Fades to another segment in which maps and books are being translated into Braille by several men as part of another works program by the Works ProjectAdministration. These maps and books are then tested by a number of blind men and women. The project also included instruction on how to read maps in Braille. Segment ends with several closeups of hands feeling scanning the Braille words.
