Segment opens up on an exterior shot of an isolated farmhouse where nurses are visiting families with sufferers of trachoma and other eye diseases. Cut to shots of families boarding cars provided by these nurses and program to transport them to clinics - after two seconds, new shot of families arriving at clinics and exiting transportation vehicles. Switch to a shot of a waiting room. Segment then shows a girl testing her eyesight with an eye chart - a WPA nurse screens the vision test. Segment on WPA project focused on eye diseases ends with a close-up of a eye doctor examining an elderly gentleman assisted by a nurse. New segment opens up with an image of a medicinal therapeutic pool provided by the Warm Springs Foundation to help paralyzed children recover the use of their muscles. Opening shot is a nurse guiding a young boy on a wooden plank to the John Whitcomb Riley Memorial pool in Indiana. Nurse then helps the boy exercise in the pool. Cut to a close-up of a young girl and her WPA nurse exercising in the same medicinal pool. Segment then shows several smiling children, male and female exercising, and playing in the Riley Pool - this program is reminiscent of Riley's poem "The Happy Little Cripple" - about a boy with curvature of the spine. Cut to a shot of a young boy who is walking in the pool with the help of his nurse and two guide rails underwater. Segment ends with a shot of three children laughing and playing with a rubber ball.
