The scene opens with a woman walking along the San Francisco pier holding a canvas. There's images of San Francisco's sky scrapers and Mission Dolores. Men are preparing a cable car for it's tracks. The narrator explains how San Francisco is a city that attracts artists from all of the world. One artist meets his friend outside of his house where he says hello from his window. They walk down a hill together carrying canvases.
