John F. Kennedy arrives in Germany to mass crowds of welcoming people and leaders. His motorcade passes the Cologne Cathedral and close to two million onlookers. JFK makes a speech to reassure America's commitment to backing other countries in the hopes of peace and freedom for all. Germans wave American flags as he passes by in a car. In the second part of the newsreel, men install an English to Russian typewriter for accurate translation in the Pentagon. Insert shots of the inside of the typewriter. In the third part, Russian ambassador, Anatoly Dobrynin, arrives at the White House. Dobrynin comes with a message from Khrushchev for JFK. Dobrynin talks with reporters after his visit with Kennedy.
