A pianist, Michael Tilson Thomas, is examining the inside of a piano. He then places a small piece of wood along with some screws and bolts that alter the piano's sound. The scene changes back and forth from an ECU of the inside of the piano as its being played to his hands pressing the keys. It ends with a medium shot of the pianist.
