Clip opens with Sam Sheppard and his newly wed wife, Ariane, descending from an airplane. Narrator describes how Ariane had corresponded with Sheppard, visited him in prison, and then married him within days of his release. They couple are seen mobbed by journalists on a trip to NY. Ariane is asked about being in love with a man in prison. Sheppard says that he is ecstatic about his freedom. Standing next to a car with police visible in the background, Sheppard's attorney F. Lee Bailey explains to a journalist that he believes the previous trial that found Sheppard guilty was an injustice due to flaws in the legal system and that public officials had benefitted from their role in the trial. Clip concludes with Sheppard speaking to press from the passenger seat of a car with his arm around Ariane who sits next to him.
