Scene opens to a close up profile of a man at his desk, writing and smoking a cigarette. Camera pans left back, as the man turns in our direction, talking directly to the viewer. As the scene opens a narrator introduces this man as scientific writer for a newspaper, and winner of two Pulitzer Prizes. Camera zooms in to close up view of the man as he describes nuclear warfare and his suggestions to the viewers for methods of survival in the event of a nuclear attack. He finishes his speech, camera fades out.
