Judge Roy F. McMahon presides over the retrial of Sam Sheppard for the murder of his first wife, Marilyn Sheppard. The judge prohibits cameras and audio-recording gear from the courthouse. Footage follows of nighttime entrances to the courthouse and interior shots with crowds of press mobbing Sheppard and his second wife, Ariana. A narrator, in voiceover, describes the outcome of the trial. F. Lee Bailey stops to speak to a journalist in footage taken immediately following the conclusion of the trial. The clip ends with Sheppard and Ariane in a car, trying to get away from the press.
